Abstract

In today’s challenging and competitive environment, information and communication technology (ICT) is important to be adopted in conducting business activities especially in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). The integration of ICT in SME’s activities helps business owners to increase productivity and at the same time able to manage the business in a proper manner. In this paper, we present findings on the awareness of the importance of ICT adoption amongst ICT literate graduates in Malaysia. The survey was designed using the analysis of SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat). Finding suggests that SME owners believe that the adoption of ICT helps to boost company’s business performance especially in managing daily operations and to sustain the business. Although they are aware of the importance of ICT for their business, the limited knowledge and low capital for ICT infrastructure are amongst the reasons to make adoption in ICT difficult.
