Abstract

The collaborative economy is reported to be highly salient to Corporate Social Responsibility, especially in promoting sustainability practices such as more efficient use of resources and economic inclusiveness in the community. However there is very little evidence in the literature on how to incorporate the principles of the collaborative economy in corporate social responsibility initiatives. Following the analysis of a descriptive case study of Starbucks Malaysia’s flagship corporate social responsibility programmes, this article proposes an integrated framework for the incorporation of the underlying principles of the collaborative economy such as actor engagement and social networking, in the development and deployment of corporate social responsibility programmes.
